As the curtain of the BPL is drawing nearer at a quad speed,LFC's fans will surely think of the games we should've won and shouldn't have drawn, Well I think we ought to forget about those games and try to look at many positive aspects of the teams' performance ...for instance we did not lose to any top 3 teams.We are the best top 4 team in that 'mini league' of the Big 4.We beat Man U 2-1 and 4-1(coming from behind in both games),Chelsea 1-0 and 2-0, and drew 0-0 and 4-4 with Arsenal.
Along the way we see the resurgence of players like Aurelio,Kuyt,Alonso,Insua,Arbeloa,Benayoun ; not forgetting the phenomenal captain Steven Gerrard and I'm sure many in the squad will follow suit.Youth players namely Nemeth ,Liddle and Pachecho are just in the brink of joining the senior team and I'm sure next season will be the season where they will try to hold a grip in the senior squad , having impressed in many games in the Reserved League.
The recurring injury which condemned Torres to the bench would be one of the key factors of why LFC did not win the title this season. Adding to that, Rafa failed to bring in any effective strikers when Torres was absent ; whilst Ngog and Babel proved to be immature and not ready for the bigger stage just yet. Babel was a disappointment , failing to impress big time ..though has the pace but his finishing was very inconsistent.. maybe its just the right time for Rafa to offload him ( and he is not running short of options of which teams to go!)..on the other hand David Ngog might be given the opportunity next season and he better make good use of the rare chance he's gonna get next season.
Any new players ? Well..Rafa works quietly.We can never be able to predict who he wants to buy next. Any big names in the picture ? Well we just hope that all the rumours linking him to David Villa, David Silva, Simao Sabrosa,Raul Albiol,Sergio Aguerro , Glen Johnson and the latest- Carlos Tevez will come true (if not all ,just hope one or two will become reality)..
..and at the same time I am hoping that this blog will prosper and gain more followers !

The Games that cost us the Premiership title ..
LFC have been very consistent of late..I kept on thinking why we can't play the way we played against West Ham,Real Madrid,Man U (or even Chelsea which we drew 4-4 in UCL)...
I remember when we played Stoke,quite early in the season..Gerrard scored from a freekick only to be denied by the ref for NOTHING !..If only the goal was counted in,we would be more relaxed now..though we still need to win a game and hoping Man U to lose 1 game.
Not only the game against Stoke..we drew with West Ham at Anfield, lost to Spurs in a game we controlled thoroughly,lost to Boro in a very lacklustre performance game..drew with Fulham at home 0-0,Hull 2-2,Wigan 1-1 and many m0re.. I guess we are the team with the least number of losses but the most number of draws.. This will have to stop next season...
Again..I have actually mentioned this very early in the season in LFC forum blog at liverpoolzone.com ..the key to success is CONSISTENCY..we played some wonderful football..beat Man U and Chelsea in both home and away games,only to be 2nd best in the league table? We r the winners in the small league of the big 4,did not lose to any of our main rivals..but yet we r only 2nd best ?! I bet Fergie must be laughing in his sleep when Man U lift the trophy this week.. (even b4 our players kick the ball against West Brom this week)..
I know we have shown great progress..but that has always been the case over the past few seasons...we showed great promises,strength,wisdom and good strategies too but if we really want to stop Man U from winning again next season (and replace LFC as English best club),Rafa will need to think of a smart strategy..and u dun have to be smart to think about it...GET ANOTHER DECENT STRIKER !..dun depend too much on Torres.He has been great but he got injured too often and that had caused us the title..(one of the prominent reasons,I guess)..
I wish you all the best LFC for best season..hope we'll finish stronger next season and be on top of the league too!

Yossi Benayoun : Has been a revelation and a joy to watch !
I certainly feel after the game against Newcastle that this guy has been great and been in a freescoring mood.I wonder what he did during training that makes him into a good player of late..HIs dribbling skills have got better and he has grown confidence tremendously..and that is why if you can see Rafa has been starting him in many games.
Do we need another winger next season when Benayoun plays like this week in week out ?Dun think so !

I bet you Kopites enjoyed watching the game with Newcastle last night ...Alonso and Gerrard hit the bar 4 times..and Gerrard also missed a few golden opportunities ... Agger had his shot saved brilliantly..
Not really sure how I would feel but must say that the scoreline did not reflect the dominance we possessed in the game..
